Astro Bermuda is a medium blade, warm season variety bermuda grass that does best in full sun. Astro bermuda grass is the most popular variety of bermuda grass sold year round in Oklahoma and is the closest match to what grows native. It is by far the hardiest and most cost effective for all erosion control purposes. In full sun, our Astro bermuda sod will dominate most other Oklahoma grasses and grow very rapidly. It can be mowed at several heights, heals itself, and can thrive with little nutrients. Used on any application except heavy shade.
419 Bermuda– Warm season variety. Fine bladed, which allows a lower mowing height and better look than the Astro bermuda. Does best in full sun. Sold year round. Used on any application except heavy shade and highway. When compared side by side with the Astro, 419 will have more curb appeal.
Meyers Zoysia– Warm season variety. Medium blade. Does best in full sun but can do well in as little as 6 hours of sun a day. Sold year round. Slower growing, less invasive, and can tolerate more shade than Bermuda. Used for any application other than highway. Can be seen on many golf course fairways. Becomes very dense, heals itself, and is one of the few varieties that will choke out Bermuda. Has a different look than any other grass when thriving or dormant.
Fescue– Cool season variety. Medium blade. Sold in fall, winter, and spring. Can thrive in full sun but does very well in as little as 3 hours of sun day. Can live in lower light conditions but not as well. Stays green year round and can be overseeded yearly to maintain a thick lawn. Used anywhere sunlight is limited. Most home lawns that have many trees use this variety.
